RELATIONSHIPS
It’s all about relationships!
God created humankind for relationship with Himself, Who in fact dwells in the mystery of holy Trinity of Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We were formed to desire God and to desire relationships with one another.
At Hidden Life Ministries, we value and nurture relationships within the faith community and encourage healthy and loving relationships within our families, community and the world.
TRANSCENDENCE
Life on earth is fragile and fleeting
It springs up like a flower and withers away. Yet, a rich relationship with the living God, our Maker, gives life focus, meaning and purpose as we discover why we were created, where we came from and where are going.
As the writer of Ecclesiastes says, “He has planted eternity in the human heart” (Ecclesiastes 3:11). Our souls are most satisfied when we can say as the Psalmist did: “I walk in the LORD’s presence as I live here on earth! ” (Psalm 116:9).
SPIRITUAL FORMATION
The Journey of faith can be difficult and confusing. . .
We need each other to share our burdens, celebrate our our joys and encourage and help each other find our way. Just as the Father, Son and Holy Spirit enjoy fellowship and community, so we, created in the image of God, thrive in community.

CREATIVITY
Humankind has the stamp of Imago Del, the image of God.
From the most magnificent constellation in the heavenlies to the most delicate flower on planet earth, the entire creation declares the glory of God (Psalm 19: 1-6).
As image bearers, we too have been given the gift of creativity, in ways both large and small. From the planning and execution of a delicious meal, to the most splendor of the Michelangelo’s painting on the Sistene Chapel in Rome, creativity flows from the Father and gives Him glory. Our ministry affirms and utilizes the arts.
BEAUTY
Our God is infinitely good and lovely Being!
He is beyond what human words can describe or compare. All that is beautiful comes from Him. The Psalmist declares: “One thing ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple” (Psalm 27:4).
These words by the Psalmist capture the heart of Hidden Life Ministries. One thing we ask, one thing we seek above all else . . . the result being an overflow into the whole of life touched by His radiance and empowering His people to impact the world for His glory.
Our Vision
We embrace a sovereign Abba, Father who is an infinitely good and lovely God, and Who also desires to be our Friend!
How astonishing it is to experience the beauty of everlasting life NOW as our lives are “hidden with Christ in God” (Colossians. 3:1-3).
The value of a life hidden with Christ is above all we can ask or think– because “in Christ are hidden all of the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” (Colossians 2:3).
Because of God’s grace, our deepest desires as a human being for significance, security and belonging, are satisfied . . . even as we experience union with God through Christ Jesus (Colossians 2:9-10).
We are able to enjoy the radiant beauty of His presence that overflows with desire to declare His Glorious Presence to the world!
OUR MISSION is to encourage others to receive and enjoy the rich, inner life that flows from God–Who empowers the soul by the work of His Spirit . . . and overflows through us love and compassion for the world.
We regularly welcome Christ Jesus to make His home in our hearts, as we surrender in trust to Him more and more. As our roots go down deep into the Father’s astonishing love, we are able to join Him in His work in the world, according to our particular gifts and callings . . . by the power of the Holy Spirit. His mission is our mission,
His plan is our plan, and we desire to follow step by step according to the perfect wisdom of His organic and constantly unfolding plan.

Our Values
OUR VALUES center on what gives God delight–as stated by Brennan Manning: “I firmly believe that the splendor of a human heart that trusts it is unconditionally loved gives God more delight than the most magnificent Cathedral ever erected or the most thunderous organ ever played.” In the parable of the prodigal son, Jesus shows us our heavenly Father who runs with complete joy and abandon towards a wayward son.
Though the grown child returns home with deep shame for wasting all the goodness of his inheritance, the merciful Father speaks only of relief, belonging and longing to restore the exhausted and haggard child (Luke 15:11-32). DIVINE LOVE is like that. To the human heart, God’s actions seem almost irrational. Yet, God our Father loves extravagantly and out of that love flows extravagant resources even for “ragamuffins” such as us (Ephesians 3: 14-19).
Don Seltzer, M.Div. Pastor of Hidden Life Ministries. Don is the founder and former Senior Pastor of Wellington Presbyterian Church (PCA), in Wellington, Florida and North Coast Presbyterian Church (PCA) formerly in Encinitas, CA. Don has served in full-time Christian ministry for more than 40 years. Janie Seltzer, M.A. Pastoral Studies, is a poet of the spiritual life. Janie is a trained Spiritual Director, She is the Director of Hidden Life Ministries and is a Zig Ziglar Legacy Trainer, as well as the spiritual director for the Ziglar Family worldwide. Janie has served in ministry in various capacities for over 40 years. She also has been a business owner and consultant. Don and Janie have been married for over 50 years and have two grown sons–Luke and John Mark. D
Adam and Marti Rosenberg are a team in life and work. Adam is an attorney & Board Certified CPA in private practice as CPA for more than 30 years. He owns Adam Rosenberg & Associates. Marti is an engineer by training and has worked in corporate, in education, having taught in both high school and UCSD. Currently, she is a Notary as well as actively involved in the Rotary Club. Adam and Marti’s dedication to the ministry as been foundational to the work. They have two grown children.
Annette Jameson’s great enthusiasm for the vision of Hidden Life Ministries in the transformation of the person into image of Christ, makes her a wonderful addition to our Board. Annette has an unquenchable thirst for learning and translates that passion into service. She is a nuts and bolts person who worked alongside her husband, Jerry, for many years in real estate development. The Jameson’s have two grown children and two grandchildren.
Lynn McCabe serves the secretary for HLM. She was a Respiratory Therapist for over 30 years with Sharp Hospital in San Diego. Lynn is married to Selden and together they have with four grown children. Her commitment is to make a difference in the world through a lives touched by the love of Christ wherever she serves. Lynn is a servant leader in all respects and adds immeasurable value to the Hidden Life Board.
